Lorena Turner is a kind of social scientist with a camera. In her work she creates indexes of contemporary social experience and searches for secret histories in objects and places. Her projects are primarily photographic, but can contain interviews and video, as well as emphasize graphic design. Her work is shown both nationally and internationally. Lorena received an MFA from the University of Oregon, studied sociology at The New School for Social Research in New York City, and teaches photojournalism and documentary studies in the Communication department at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California.

She resides in both Los Angeles and New York City.
